FREESTYLE *Weekly Update* 3/2->
Some of the ACTION from last weekend…
…a few glimpses of The B TEAM, the Fresh Start Crew, and the Freeriders shredding the Motherland from the Rail Jam on 2/27 to OMS training on the morning of 3/1…
CONGRATS…
…to Matt Hauser for winning the <16 division at the Okemo Rail Jam, grabbing himself a pair of skis, and to Meg Ellmaker who has not only returned STRONG from her broken arm AND surgery, but who won herself a pair of skis and bindings for 1st place female at the rail jam (perhaps the only female, but I bet she would have beaten anyone!)
Sam Pawlak taking down 2nd in the <16 division, Jared Colletti 3rd.
IMPORTANT STUFF COMING UP FOR EVERYONE…
A FREERIDE…
Two more big comps coming up — the Mt Snow Freeskiing Open on 3/19-21 AND Dumont Cup (Sunday River) on 3/26-27. Spots still open for both… if you haven’t signed up yet contact Marks…
THE B TEAM…
This weekend, REGIONALS at Killington — Slopestyle and Aerials on Saturday and Moguls on Sunday.
EVENT INFO HERE…(registration, location of venues, etc.)
Competitors should be at registration by 7:30 on Saturday morning (At Killington Ski Club in the K1 base area).
For Mogul competitors, we will have a coach at Killington on Saturday to train the mogul course with you. You can pick up a training ticket if you are not competing in Slope, and that must be done at registration as well… meet Law at reg. by 8AM.
SUNDAY, mogul competitors meet at registration 7:30 AM.
For all regional competitors, please comment below re: carpooling.
WHALEBACK… On the weekend following regionals but before Easterns (3/13-14) Whaleback is hosting a mogul comp that will go towards NEXT year’s points list… the OKEMO Fresh Start Team is using this as their “break-out” event… I’d like whichever B’s are interested to sign up for this comp on SUNDAY 3/14 to get our younger teammates psyched up and inspired!!
FRESH START CREW…
WHALEBACK…! OK guys, coming up in a little less than 2 weeks is your chance to show off all that you’ve learned this year.
I have decided that our team will attend the second of the two days of mogul competition at Whaleback, SUNDAY 3/14 — this will be a less hectic registration process than the highly sought-after Saturday event, and a little smaller and less intimidating of a field.
*>Here’s how to proceed…
- You’ll all need a USSA Freestyle Competitor’s License — go to USSA.org, Become a Member… and take it from there.
- Once you have gotten a USSA member #, go to easternfreestyle.org, Events page. Scroll down to the 3/14 Whaleback event and click the Green Register button (this will not be available to our region until MONDAY 3/8 at 6PM).
- You want to make sure you sign up for M2 (second day of mogul competition, Sunday 3/14)… again, this will also give you guys a chance to warm up at home on Saturday.
- We’ll have a mini-course set up on the Plunge this weekend for you guys to prepare!!
- This will be FUN and a great challenge for you all. We are strongly encouraging participation from the entire group… please call or email if you have questions.
Thanks TEAM, and have a great week!

Thanks for the video!
We are driving to Killington on Sunday and happy to give anyone a ride.
On Saturday, Maggie wants to go up for training. She might need a ride that day – we are still working things out.
